Evangelist Bessie Morton Marries G. P. Cooper

Miles City Reporter
Miles City, Montana
August or September, 1931

On the afternoon of August 30th, a quiet but beautiful home wedding took place at 26 S. Jordan Avenue, Miles City, Montana, in which Miss Bessie Bell Morton of Florence, Colorado, and Mr. G. P. Cooper of Pikeville, Tennessee were united in marriage. The impressive ring ceremony was performed by Evangelist Eva Morton, the bride's sister. Only intimate friends of the bridge and groom were present. Immediately after the ceremony a bountiful wedding dinner was enjoyed by all present.

The titian-haired bridge was beautiful in a white crepe clergy attire; the groom wore conventional navy blue.

They were the recipients of many beautiful gifts from their wide circle of friends. The lovely home was a profusion of home grown flowers.

Mrs. Cooper is the middle sister of the famous Morton Trio, internationally known singing evangelists of the church of the Four Square Gospel. She has been a missionary in home and foreign fields, and she is beloved at home and abroad.

The groom is well and favorably known in "Dixie Land," coming from one of the oldest and best families of Pikeville, Tennessee, where he has large interests.

After two weeks honeymooning in Yellowstone Park and the Rocky mountain states, Mr. and Mrs. Cooper will make their home on the Cooper plantation at Pikeville, Tenn.

We wish for them a long, happy and prosperous life together.
