John Crawford's will has not been located to confirm their names. A Botetourt County deed for William Crawford states that the original owner of the land was his father, John Crawford. [2] William Crawford's and Margaret Kilpatrick's son Robert K. Crawford married his cousin, Elizabeth Crawford, daughter of James Crawford and Jane McClellan. That implies that William and James are brothers, which means that John Crawford was also James' father. [2]
