Robert K. Crawford, son of William Crawford and Margaret Kilpatrick, was born 7 May 1798 in Botetourt County. On 22 February 1822, he married his cousin Elizabeth Crawford (born 1 Nov 1802), daughter of James Crawford and Jane McClellan. Elizabeth died 22 Nov 1834, in Ralls Co., MO.

On 6 June 1837 Robert married a second time to Nancy Ann Alexander Ager Forbes (born 1811 in Ireland), whose husband Andrew Forbes died in 1835 in nearby Monroe County, Missouri, leaving her with two children: William Wallace Forbes born 1832 in Pennsylvania; and Thomas Andrew Forbes, born 1834. No further information on these two Forbes children.
Robert and Nancy moved to Linneus, Linn County, Missouri, where the children of Robert K. Crawford and wife Nancy were born. They are as follows:
Sarah Ann Crawford, born 7 April 1838 in Linneus, Linn County, Missouri, married 1869 to W. P. Bennett in Klamath County, California; died 1882 in Forks of Salmon, Siskiyou County, California. Five children of this marriage.

Margaret Crawford, born 21 November 1849 in Linneus, Linn County, Missouri; married on 23 April 1876 to Jonas Sallstrom (born in Haggsjo, Vasternorrland, Sweden on 21 Sept 1846). This family located in Orleans, Humboldt County, California where Sallstrom was a miner. Margaret died in Eureka, Humboldt County, California on 3 March 1930. Jonas and Margaret had seven children.
Robert K. Crawford and several brothers, as heirs of their father William who died in 1835, owned several properties in Botetourt County. Robert eventually sold his share of these Craigs Creek properties to his brothers, Andrew K., Joseph, Samuel F., and James.
In Ralls County, Missouri, Robert and wife Elizabeth owned land near her parents on Salt River. When Robert and Nancy relocated to Linn County, Missouri, they purchased farmland as well as some land within the city of Linneus, the county seat.
Robert K. Crawford died of cholera in Linn County in 1849. Nancy and children remained there until the late 1860s when Robert's son Andrew returned from California to bring the family back with him. Nancy died at Forks of Salmon, Humboldt County, California, in 1886.

Notes: This record has several errors. First of all, there is no record of a Samuel Alexander. There is, however, a George. Per the 1840 census record, Robert and Nancy did not move to Linn County until after 1840 so Sarah and Samuel Alexander (George) were born in Saline township, Ralls County, Missouri. It's unclear when they moved so it's possible that Melissa and Margaret were born in Linn County.
